Biography
Matt Regier is a Republican state senator representing District 5 in Montana, which covers areas south and west of Kalispell, including Batavia, Kila, parts of northwest Kalispell, Somers, Lakeside, and regions around Blacktail Mountain and Smith Lake. Born in 1980 in Kalispell, Montana, he is a businessman, owner of Stillwater Sod Corporation since 2003, and a real estate investor. A Christian and member of organizations like Montana Family Foundation, Montana Right to Life, National Rifle Association, and Montana Special Olympics volunteer, Regier is known as a social and fiscal conservative. Notable achievements include serving as Speaker of the Montana House , architect of anti-abortion legislation , and current Senate President since assuming office on January 6, 2025 . He advocates for economic growth, individual rights, returning lodging taxes to counties, and has proposed criminalizing undocumented immigration.
