Senator Matt Nunn is a Republican representing Kentucky's 17th Senate District, which includes Grant and Scott Counties, as well as parts of Fayette and Kenton Counties. Born on January 6, 1978, in Sadieville, Kentucky, he was elected in the 2024 Kentucky Senate election with 69.1% of the vote, defeating Democratic candidate Kiana Fields, and took office on January 1, 2025, succeeding retiring Senator Damon Thayer. A devoted Christian, he is married to Ashley and father to Emma and Easton. Nunn is a small business owner with his wife in Georgetown and emphasizes conservative values, including protecting life, free speech, the Second Amendment, business-friendly policies, and support for law enforcement and first responders.
