Biography
Matt Lesser is a Democratic State Senator representing District 9 in Connecticut, which includes the communities of Cromwell, Middletown, Newington, Rocky Hill, and Wethersfield. Born on April 29, 1983, in Washington, DC, he resides in Middletown, CT, with his wife, Sarah. He has served as Senator since 2019, with his current term ending in 2027, and holds the position of Deputy Majority Leader since 2021. Notable achievements include prior service as a State Representative for District 100 from 2009 to 2019, where he was Assistant Majority Leader, and a 2022 candidacy for Secretary of the State. He currently chairs the Insurance & Real Estate Committee, vice-chairs the Housing Committee, and co-chairs the Human Services Committee, while serving on several others including Appropriations, Judiciary, and Labor & Public Employees.
