Biography
Matt Hall is a Republican state representative serving Michigan's 42nd House District, which includes portions of Kalamazoo and Allegan counties such as townships of Alamo, Brady, Comstock, Cooper, Kalamazoo , Oshtemo , Pavilion, Prairie Ronde, Richland, Ross, Schoolcraft, Gun Plain, Otsego , and cities of Galesburg, Parchment, Otsego, and Plainwell. He resides in Richland Township and has served four terms since 2019, currently as the 79th Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives , following roles as House Minority Leader and Republican caucus chair. Notable achievements include chairing the House Oversight Committee, Joint Select Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic , and House Tax Policy Committee ; awards such as National Federation of Independent Business Guardian of Small Business , Michigan Manufacturers Association Legislator of the Year , Michigan Information and Research Service House Member of the Year , and Political Figure of the Year .
