Matthew "Matt" H. Gwynn is a Republican who represented Utah House District 6 as a state representative from January 2021 until his resignation in March 2026. Born and raised in Ogden, Utah, he worked extensively in law enforcement, including as a police officer and chief in Roy, Utah, and previously served on the Farr West City Council. Gwynn resigned to focus on family, particularly his daughter's recovery from a serious accident. Notable positions include chief of police in Roy and adjunct professor at Weber State University.
