Biography
Matt Gress is a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 4. Born on July 8, 1988, he was first elected in 2022 as the top vote-getter in his district and reelected by a larger margin in 2024. As a proud Republican and openly gay politician, Gress focuses on issues like border security, lower taxes, balanced budgets, teacher pay increases, public safety, and homelessness prevention. Education and Political Experience
Gress is a former public school teacher and served as a governing board member for the Madison Elementary School District in central Phoenix from 2017 to 2021. His professional background includes working as an analyst for the non-partisan Joint Legislative Budget Committee and as Director of the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting under former Governor Doug Ducey. A key campaign pledge was to raise teacher pay by $10,000 per Arizona teacher.
