Matthew Robert Gergely was a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 35th District in Allegheny County from 2023 until his death. He won a special election in February 2023 following Austin Davis's resignation to become lieutenant governor and was reelected in 2024. Gergely followed in the footsteps of his brother Marc, who previously held the seat, and was noted for his dedication to children and working families during over 20 years of public service in McKeesport.
