Biography
Matt Gaetz is a Republican politician and attorney born on May 7, 1982, in Hollywood, Florida. He previously represented Florida's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2017 to 2024, known for his ultraconservative positions, staunch support for Donald Trump, and role in ousting House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. In November 2024, he resigned from Congress after being nominated for U.S. Attorney General but withdrew amid controversy over allegations including sexual misconduct.
