He represents District 53, which includes Russellville and portions of Pope County. Born on May 18, 1983, Duffield is known for his unconventional path to politics, having spent 20 years as a professional wrestler, sports-entertainment promoter, and producer under the stage name "Matt Riviera." His wrestling career took him throughout the United States and internationally, including appearances in California and Tokyo. He also pursued acting and reality television, appearing on VH1 programming.

Education and Background

Duffield attended Harding University for his higher education. His early interest in wrestling came through his brothers and late father, Ronnie, which ultimately led to his two-decade career in sports entertainment before transitioning to business and politics.

Political Experience and Positions

For the 95th General Assembly, Duffield serves on the House Public Transportation Committee, the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee, and the House Rules Committee. He holds the position of chair of the Legislative Affairs Permanent Subcommittee and was appointed to the Arkansas AI and Analytics Center of Excellence Subcommittee.

Duffield's political philosophy emphasizes supporting working-class constituents and veterans, reducing government size, and opposing excessive taxes and regulations that hinder business growth. He has described his primary motivation for serving as wanting to "elevate the standard of living for working-class people" and believes the Republican Party should translate its principles into concrete action benefiting ordinary citizens.
