Biography
Matt Commons is a Republican member of the Indiana House of Representatives representing District 13, which includes all of Benton and Warren counties, and portions of Fountain, Jasper, Montgomery, Newton, Tippecanoe, and White counties. Born in 1990 or 1991, he assumed office on November 19, 2024, after taking the oath on November 20, 2024. A U.S. Army veteran, Commons served five years in the 82nd Airborne Division with two tours in Afghanistan, earning a Purple Heart. He currently teaches high school social studies and coaches youth football in Williamsport, where he resides with his wife, Alyssa, and their two sons. Notable positions include emphasizing constitutional conservatism, education-driven policies, and community focus.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in social studies education from Purdue University; master's degree in history from Liberty University; master's degree in educational leadership and administration from Indiana State University.
