Matt Bierlein (House District 97)

Matt Bierlein is a Republican state representative serving Michigan's 97th District, which spans portions of Bay, Genesee, Saginaw, and Tuscola counties. A Tuscola County native born on April 21, 1982, in Vassar, he is married to Mindy Frahm Bierlein since 2010 and has three children: Matthew, Madison, and Maddox. He is currently in his second term after winning election in November 2022 and reelection in 2024. Bierlein is a husband, father, small business co-owner , and conservative advocate focused on reducing government red tape, lowering taxes, improving state transparency, and supporting small businesses and families. Notable achievements include serving as president of the Michigan Association of Counties, board member of the National Association of County Officers, and leadership on initiatives like a single-page taxpayer revenue report for accountability.
