Biography

Matt Ball is a Democratic State Senator representing Senate District 31 in central Denver, Colorado. A fifth-generation Coloradan living in Capitol Hill with his wife and three young children, he was appointed to the seat in January 2025 by a Democratic vacancy committee to replace Sen. Chris Hansen, winning after five rounds of voting against six competitors. He serves as Vice Chair of the Transportation & Energy Committee and is a member of the Senate Judiciary, State, Veterans, and Military Affairs, and Capitol Building Advisory Committees.
