Mary Littleton

Mary Littleton is a Republican politician who has represented District 78 in the Tennessee House of Representatives since January 8, 2013. Born on September 7, 1957, she represents Cheatham and Dickson counties. She is the mother of four adult children and a grandmother of nine.

Political Experience

Littleton was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2012 and currently serves as Chairwoman of the Children & Family Affairs Subcommittee. Before entering politics, she had 20 years of experience as a small business owner and identifies as a fiscal conservative.

Throughout her tenure, Littleton has focused on advocacy for vulnerable populations. She passed a law requiring teachers to be trained to spot instances of possible human trafficking and has been a staunch advocate for victims of child abuse and domestic violence, as well as improvements for children in foster care.

She serves in several leadership roles, including the 23rd Judicial District Child Advocacy Board, the Human Trafficking Advisory Council, and Tennessee's Safe Baby Court Advisory Committee. She is also on the board of Jobs for America's Graduates Tennessee.

Notable Achievements and Recognition

Littleton has received numerous honors during her service, including the 2024 Legislator of the Year award from the Tennessee Republican Party, the 2023 Legislative Champion for Adoption and Foster Care from the Adoption Project, and the Champion for Children award from Court Appointed Special Advocates of Dickson County. She has also been repeatedly endorsed by Tennessee Right to Life, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the National Rifle Association, earning the title "Taxpayer Hero" from Americans for Prosperity.

Littleton announced she will not seek another term and will retire after the conclusion of her current term.
