Representative Mary Howard

District: Rutland-6, Vermont

Mary Howard is an American politician from Vermont who has been a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives for the Rutland-6 District since 2023. She has lived in Rutland County for more than forty years and maintains deep roots in the community.

Howard was married to her husband, the late James, for 46 years and has two children. Beyond her legislative work, she has been actively involved in community service, including volunteering with the United Way's Allocations Committee and serving as a team captain for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life fundraiser.

Political Experience

Howard has a lengthy background in public service and community engagement. For nearly twenty years prior to her election to the House, she served as a political volunteer in Rutland County and as a Board Member of BROC.

In the Vermont House, she has served on the House General and Military Affairs Committee, where she has held the positions of Clerk and Co-Chair of the Vermont Worker's Caucus.
