Biography
Mary Gill is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 35th District. This district includes communities such as Beverly, Mt. Greenwood, Palos Heights, Palos Park, Orland Park, Worth, Merrionette Park, and Alsip on Chicago’s far Southwest Side. She was appointed in March 2023 following the retirement of Rep. Frances Ann Hurley and has served since then. A lifelong resident of the district, born and raised in West Beverly, she now lives in Mount Greenwood with her husband Dan and their three children: Ella, Luken, and Hagen. She is active in the St. Christina parish community and frequently attends her children’s sports events.

- Professional Background: Former Executive Director of the Mt. Greenwood Community and Business Association; former special education teacher; board member of Garden Center Services and Local School Council for the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences; active volunteer with Park Lawn and Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities.
Notable Achievements and Positions: Gill serves on the Agriculture and Conservation Committee , Mental Health and Addiction, Police and Fire, Prescription Drug Affordability, Small Business, Tech Innovation, and Veterans’ Affairs committees. She advocates for public safety, small business development, education, people with disabilities, and women’s healthcare. In her first full legislative session, she filed 18 bills, passing 6, including measures expanding mental health resources for first responders, cracking down on predatory towing companies, and improving access to Alzheimer’s treatments. Described as a moderate Democrat, she works to improve lives in her district through tireless advocacy.
