Biography
Mary Elizabeth Bentley is a Republican state representative serving District 54 in the Arkansas House of Representatives, covering portions of Yell, Pope, Perry, Saline, and Conway counties. She is currently in her sixth term during the 95th General Assembly , having first been elected in 2014. Bentley owns Bentley Plastics in Perryville, Arkansas, where she has served as CEO since 2000, and resides in Perry County with her three grown children and six grandchildren. She is an active member of Perry County Right to Life and attends the Assembly of God church.
Education and Political Experience
Bentley earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Harding University in 1983. She practiced nursing for over a decade in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, working with some of the first ECMO units.
In the legislature, she serves as Vice-Chair of the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee, and is a member of the House Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee and the Arkansas Legislative Council. Her notable positions emphasize conservative principles, including advocacy for individual rights and limited government.
