Biography
Mary Ann Santos
Mary Ann Santos is a Democratic State Representative for Georgia House District 117, representing constituents in Henry County. A proud 25-year resident of the area, Santos is the first-generation daughter of immigrant parents and brings a personal commitment to public service. As a survivor of domestic violence, she has made advocacy for vulnerable communities central to her work in elected office. Beyond her legislative role, Santos is a mother of two children and actively participates in her faith community at T.O.P. Church, where she expresses her creativity as an artist.
Education
Santos holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from Mercer University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Clayton State University. Her educational background in criminal justice and public administration directly informs her work on policy issues affecting her district.
Political Experience
With 18 years of public service experience, Santos has dedicated her career to empowering marginalized communities through mentorship programs, fellowships, and nonprofit work across metro Atlanta. As a State Representative, she serves on the House Committee on State Properties and advocates for key policy areas including education, public safety, health, infrastructure, and economic development. Her legislative office is located in Room 507-C of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building at 18 Capitol Square in Atlanta.
