Fernando J. "Marty" Martinez is a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing District 29 , serving since January 10, 2024. Born in 1952 in Victorville, California, he grew up in Southern California with four brothers and five sisters, inspired by his mother's resilience. A retired professional and U.S. Air Force veteran , he resides in Leesburg with his wife, Doris A. Martinez, and has five children , nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Notable achievements include over 20 years on the Leesburg Town Council, including two terms as Vice Mayor , where he focused on growth while preserving historic character, town autonomy, and animal rights. He serves on committees for Communications, Technology and Innovation, and Counties, Cities and Towns, and is active in community roles like Vice Chair of Aurora School of Autism and board member of Loudoun Literacy Council and La Voz Hispanic Advocacy Group.

• Education: Associate of Science in Economics from Mt. Hood Community College ; B.S. in Computer Science and B.S. in Economics from Portland State University .
