Marty Harbin is a Republican state senator representing Georgia Senate District 16, which includes Lamar, Pike, Spalding counties, and portions of Fayette County. First elected in 2014 and sworn in January 2015, he serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Government Oversight, Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Labor and the Senate Committee on Retirement, and a member of committees on Ethics, Natural Resources and the Environment, and others. A longtime insurance agency owner, Harbin is married to Debbie , with six children and multiple grandchildren; they reside in Tyrone and are active in Baptist churches and Christian ministries like the Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center.
