Biography
Martin "Marty" Foncello is a Republican state representative for Connecticut's 107th District, which includes Brookfield, the Stony Hill section of Bethel, and the Hawleyville neighborhood of Newtown. A husband and father, he assumed office on January 4, 2023, after winning election in 2022, and was re-elected in November 2024. Notable achievements include 28 years of service in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard, retiring as a lieutenant colonel; serving two terms as Brookfield's First Selectman , during which he was called to active duty in Washington, D.C., post-9/11; and working as a Senior Intelligence Officer at the Department of Homeland Security. He founded the Greenridge Tax District and Water Company, serving as its president, and is affiliated with the Brookfield Rotary Club. Currently, he serves on the Appropriations, Education, and Government Administration and Elections Committees.
