Biography

Representative Marty Feltus

Martha "Marty" Feltus is a Republican member of the Vermont House of Representatives representing the Caledonia-3 District. Born April 30, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, Feltus has been a resident of Lyndon, Vermont, since 1977. Over her 45+ years in Lyndon, she has been actively involved in numerous local organizations and community initiatives, including the Mother's Club and the Northeastern Vermont Development Association.

Feltus retired from Weidmann Electrical Technology after 27 years working in management positions focused on international sales, customer management, and strategic improvement initiatives. Her extensive background in continuous improvement and strategic planning has informed her approach to public service.

She is married to Stephen and has two grown children.

Education

Feltus graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Political Experience

Feltus has held significant local leadership positions prior to her state legislative service, including:

  • Board of Trustees for the Village of Lyndonville
  • Selectboard member for the Town of Lyndon
  • Lyndon Planning Commission member
  • Corporator of Lyndon Institute
  • Board member and past president of the Northeastern Vermont Development Association
  • Chair of Lyndon's Hazard Mitigation Committee
  • Board representative for the NEKCV Communications District

At the state level, Feltus served in the Vermont House of Representatives from 2013 to 2022 and returned to serve again beginning in 2025. During her prior tenure, she participated in the Committees on Natural Resources and Energy, Appropriations, Joint Information Technology, and Prevention of Sexual Harassment. In her current term, she serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Appropriations, along with positions on the House Rules Committee, Canvashing Committee, and Joint Fiscal Committee.
