Martin T. "Marty" Causer is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 67th District since his election in 2002. Born on August 10, 1973, in Coudersport, Potter County, he resides in Turtlepoint, Annin Township, and is a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Sartwell with three children: Matthew, Morgan, and Mallory. Causer is a vocal advocate for rural Pennsylvania, limited government, fiscal responsibility, economic development, energy resources, and rural health care, including successful legislation to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates for ambulance services.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from Port Allegany High School in 1991; earned a B.A. in history and political science from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
• Early Career: Worked as a dispatcher at the 9-1-1 center in Smethport and as a part-time police officer for the Borough of Port Allegany; serves as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician and lifetime member of the Port Area Ambulance Service; member of the advisory board of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
• Political Experience: Serves on House Commerce, Environmental Resources and Energy, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committees. Notable positions include Republican Chairman of the House Energy Committee , Subcommittee on Parks and Forests , and Subcommittee on Programs and Benefits of the Aging and Older Adult Services Committee. Previously served as Majority Policy Committee Chairman , Chairman of Policy, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Game and Fisheries committees; chairs the Legislative Timber Caucus and Northwest Caucus; serves on the Pennsylvania Grade Crude Development Advisory Council and Environmental Quality Board.
