Biography
Martina A. White is a Republican representing Pennsylvania's 170th House District in Philadelphia, covering neighborhoods such as Parkwood, Somerton, Bustleton, Millbrook, and Morrell. Born on July 7, 1988, in Philadelphia, she is a lifelong resident of Northeast Philadelphia and works as a financial advisor. Elected in a special election on March 24, 2015—the first new Republican in Philadelphia in 25 years—she was sworn in on April 13, 2015, and has been reelected for multiple terms. Notable achievements include serving as Minority Caucus Chairman , Minority Caucus Secretary , Majority Caucus Secretary , and Deputy Whip ; board member of SEPTA ; and appointments to the Joint State Government Commission . She has advocated for increased school funding, EITC program expansion, public safety measures like concurrent jurisdiction for illegal firearms, impeachment efforts against the Philadelphia DA, and senior services; she also chaired the House Republican Transportation Infrastructure Committee and LNG Task Force.
