Martin Hickey is a Democratic member of the New Mexico State Senate representing District 20 . Elected in 2020, he assumed office on January 19, 2021, and continues to serve as a retired physician, businessman, and politician. He serves as chairman of the board and CEO of True Health New Mexico, an insurance company, and won his Democratic primary in a field of four candidates before defeating Republican John C. Morton in the general election.

Education and Political Experience

• Worked as a physician and professor of medicine at the University of New Mexico Hospital prior to politics.
