Martha "Marti" Deuter is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 45 since January 2025. She lives in Elmhurst with her husband Dave and their children, and currently works for Bridge Communities, a nonprofit providing housing and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Master's degree from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration; undergraduate degree in social work from Ohio University.

  • Elmhurst City Council , focusing on emergency response, public safety, infrastructure, and financial stability.
• Professional Background: Directed the City of Chicago Department of Housing’s policy agendas, managed the Chicago Community Land Trust and affordable housing plans; prior roles at Woodstock Institute advocating against predatory lending, and DePaul University’s Institute for Housing Studies on affordable rental housing preservation.
