Mark Wright

Mark Wright is a Republican state representative from Louisiana who has represented District 77 since 2017. He is currently the Chairman of the House Republican Delegation and previously served as Chairman of the House Transportation Committee.

Wright has built a reputation for results-driven leadership focused on tax relief, job creation, and infrastructure investment. His legislative priorities include cutting taxes to enhance Louisiana's competitiveness, creating jobs to retain families in the state, expanding educational choices, and securing funding for roads, bridges, and infrastructure projects.

His leadership has earned him numerous recognitions, including Most Valuable Policymaker from the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, a 100% Pro-Life Career Record from Louisiana Right to Life, Family Advocate designation from Louisiana Family Forum, and the American Conservative Union's Achievement Award.

Education

Wright holds a B.A. from Xavier University and an M.P./M.B.A. from the University of Dallas.

Political Experience

Beyond the legislature, Wright has extensive experience in Louisiana's economy and community leadership. He served as Vice President of The American Waterways Operators, managing the Southern Region and partnering with the Coast Guard on Mississippi River and Gulf Intracoastal Waterway operations. He also served on the Lower Mississippi Waterway Safety Advisory Committee and the Louisiana Supply Chain Transportation Council.

Previously, Wright worked as Vice President of the American Arbitration Association, where he managed Louisiana's post-Katrina mediation program, overseeing more than 17,000 mediations between homeowners and insurance companies.

In his community, Wright has served as President of the River Forest Civic Association, Treasurer of the Covington Rotary Club, Advisory Board Member of the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the St. Tammany Republican Parish Executive Committee. District 77 encompasses St. Tammany Parish.
