Biography
Senator Mark Mann is a Democratic member of the Oklahoma State Senate representing District 46, which includes Del City and parts of Oklahoma City. Born and raised in Eastern Oklahoma , he has lived in District 46 for 19 years, where he owns a small business and has raised his two sons. Elected to the Senate in 2024, Mann is recognized as an advocate for education, school funding, public transparency, and student welfare. Notable roles include board member for Oklahoma Lawyers for Children and Families and the Oklahoma Alliance for Healthy Families; past president of Bricktown Rotary Club; chairman of the Bricktown Rotary Foundation; past assistant district governor for Rotary International District 5750; and appointee to the Oklahoma Podiatric Medical Examiners Board by Governor Brad Henry. He organizes charity events like the Annual Oklahoma City Charity Scotch Tasting, benefiting local schools and children's organizations.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Arts in International Government from the University of Oklahoma, earned on a President’s Leadership Class Scholarship.
- Political Experience: Served seven years on the Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education as District 4 member , twice elected Vice Chair by peers; chaired the Finance Committee and co-chaired the Bond Committee. Honored as an outstanding state employee while serving State Superintendent Sandy Garrett.
