Biography
Mark Lawrence is a Democratic state senator representing Maine Senate District 35, which includes the York County communities of Eliot, Kittery, Ogunquit, South Berwick, and York. A practicing attorney from Eliot, he has a long history of public service, including prior roles as York County District Attorney from 2003-2010 and founding member of the Laudholm Trust in Wells, where he helped secure funding for Land for Maine’s Future. Notable achievements include multiple terms in the Maine Legislature and leadership on key committees; he currently serves as chair of the Energy, Utilities, and Technology Committee and on the Senate Conduct and Ethics Committee. He was reelected in the 2024 cycle and sworn into his third consecutive Senate term.
