Biography
Senator Mark T. Johnson is a Republican representing Minnesota Senate District 1, which includes Clay, Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau counties. He resides in East Grand Forks with his wife, Skyler, and their three children: Archer, Livley, and Cullen. A third-generation family business owner and attorney, Johnson is a partner in Johnson Concrete Construction and a small law firm. He serves as Senate Republican Minority Leader and leads the Rules and Administration Committee. First elected in 2016, he was re-elected in 2020 and 2022, with his current term running from 2023 to 2027.

Education
- B.A. in Finance and Economics from Bethel University.
- J.D. with Distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he served as President of the Federalist Society, was a member of Law Review, and authored an Energy Tax Policy thesis.

- Elected to Minnesota Senate in 2016; re-elected 2020 and 2022 .
- Leadership: Republican Caucus Leader/Minority Leader since 2022.
