Biography

Mark J. Romanchuk is a Republican state senator representing Ohio Senate District 22, which includes Ashland, Medina, and Richland counties. He serves as Chair of the Medicaid Committee and Vice Chair of the Small Business and Economic Opportunity Committee, with notable experience in manufacturing, economic development, and job creation.

Born on September 22, 1962, in Mansfield, Ohio, Mark Romanchuk is married to Zoi and resides in Ontario. He owns and serves as CEO of PR Machine Works, Inc., a contract manufacturer in Ontario, with over 35 years in small business, systems engineering, management, and community development. His career includes work at Hughes Aircraft Company, supporting the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with the former Soviet Union and advising the U.S. Navy in Japan. Romanchuk is a leader in workforce development, co-founding and formerly presiding over the Regional Manufacturing Coalition, and previously chairing the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce. He holds memberships in the National Tooling and Machining Association, National Federation of Independent Business, Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, Mansfield Sertoma Club, and Ashbrook Center Board.

Education and Political Experience

Romanchuk holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology and a Master of Business Administration . In politics, he is in his second term in the Ohio Senate for District 22 after serving four terms in the Ohio House of Representatives, where he flipped a Democratic seat Republican for the first time in three decades. His current committee roles include Chair of Medicaid, Vice Chair of Small Business and Economic Opportunity, and member of Finance, Health, and Public Utilities committees.
