Biography
Mark Hart is a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing the 78th District, which includes all of Pendleton County and parts of Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties. First elected in 2016, he has focused on emergency services legislation and holds key committee roles, including House chair of the Government Contract Review Committee.
Mark Allen Hart, born December 9, 1968, in Falmouth, Kentucky, has served in the Kentucky House since January 2017 after defeating Democratic incumbent Tom McKee in 2016 . He won unopposed in 2022 and was unopposed in the 2024 Republican primary. His career emphasizes public safety: he served in the Kentucky Army National Guard as an artilleryman, combat MP, and medic; worked as a lieutenant and paramedic with Lexington Fire & EMS ; captained Pendleton County EMS; and was involved with Cynthiana/Harrison County Emergency Management. He is an Eagle Scout, founding member of Pendleton County Search & Rescue, elder at Falmouth Christian Church, and board member of Kincaid Regional Theater. Notable achievements include sponsoring *House Bill 157 *, creating the Kentucky Urban Search and Rescue Program, and *House Bill 372 *, improving fire district oversight. He serves on committees like House Appropriations and Revenue, Veterans/Military Affairs and Public Protection, Economic Development and Workforce Investment, and the Budget Review Subcommittee on Economic Development.
