Biography
Mark Gordon is a Republican serving as the 33rd Governor of Wyoming since January 7, 2019. Born on March 14, 1957, in New York, NY, he grew up on his family's ranch near Kaycee in Johnson County, Wyoming, instilling values of hard work, integrity, and conservation. A rancher, businessman, and entrepreneur, Gordon and his wife Jennie own a cow-calf operation breeding Angus/Hereford cross cattle. He has focused on energy, water issues, and natural resource management, earning the Society for Range Management award for Excellence in Grazing Management in 2009. Notable achievements include leading Wyoming through economic challenges like COVID-19 and mineral revenue declines, diversifying the economy into technology, finance, agriculture, energy, research, tourism, and carbon capture; signing over 30 laws on cryptocurrency and digital assets; banning Delta 8 hemp in 2024; and chairing the Wyoming Stable Token Commission to launch a fiat-backed stable token. As governor, he has been rated among the top ten in the country and emphasizes transparent, efficient government, local empowerment, and quality education.
