Mark Edelson

Mark Edelson is a civic-minded attorney and State Delegate representing Maryland's 46th District in Baltimore City. Born in Pretoria, South Africa on July 12, 1984, Edelson is a husband and father who has been deeply involved in community leadership and governance.
Before his election to the Maryland House of Delegates, Edelson served in various leadership roles within Baltimore's civic and Jewish communities, including President of the Canton Community Association and Vice-Chair of the Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee.
Education
Edelson attended Walton High School in The Bronx, New York, graduating in 2003. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University in 2007 and a Juris Doctor from the Francis King Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland in 2010. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Florida.
Political Experience
Edelson was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in November 2022 and has served as a member since January 11, 2023. He currently serves on the Appropriations Committee and is the Vice-Chair of the Transportation and the Environment Subcommittee of the Appropriations Committee. His legislative focus includes sustainable transportation initiatives.
Before his election, Edelson worked as an attorney at Goldman & Goldman from 2010 to 2017 and became a partner at Silverman, Thompson, Slutkin, White in 2017, a position he continues to hold.
