Biography
Mark Louis Born is a Republican politician representing Wisconsin's 37th Assembly District since 2025, previously the 39th District from 2013 to 2025. A lifelong resident of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, he is married to Liberty, with one daughter and a cocker spaniel. Born served as a former law enforcement officer and corrections supervisor at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department. Notable achievements include serving as Assembly co-chair of the Joint Finance Committee since 2021, a key role in shaping Wisconsin's state budget, and prior leadership as chairman of the Republican Party of Dodge County and four years on the Beaver Dam City Council .
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1994; earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1998.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2012 after supporting Scott Walker's 2010 gubernatorial campaign. Previously served on committees including Criminal Justice and Public Safety, Public Benefit Reform , Natural Resources, and others. Currently represents parts of Dodge and Columbia Counties; term ends January 2027. Active in community roles like the Dodge County Historical Society Board and Beaver Dam Lake Improvement Association.
