Biography
Marjorie C. Decker is a Democratic State Representative for the 25th Middlesex District in Massachusetts, representing parts of Cambridge including West, North, Riverside, Cambridgeport, and mid-Cambridge neighborhoods. Elected in 2012, she serves on the House committees for Health Care Financing, Housing, and Financial Services, advocating for job creation, affordable healthcare, low-income housing, early childhood education, environmental conservation, and economic/social justice. Notable achievements include sponsoring bills on health education in schools, disability benefits, and labor laws for small businesses; being the first woman honored by the Greater Boston Labor Council for immigrant and worker advocacy; and the youngest woman inducted into the Boston YWCA’s Academy of Woman Achievers for affordable housing and economic justice work. She previously served as Cambridge City Councilor and Vice-Mayor , and has two children.
