Marilyn Slaby

Marilyn Slaby is a Republican who served in the Ohio House of Representatives representing the 41st and 38th House Districts. She is the wife of former Ohio state representative Lynn Slaby. Slaby and her husband have three children and four grandchildren.

Education

Slaby earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Heidelberg College and completed post-graduate work at the University of Akron.

Political Experience

Slaby's legislative career included two separate periods of service:

• 2004: Appointed to fill a vacancy in Ohio House District 41, serving until December 31, 2004
• 2012–2018: Appointed to the Ohio House District 38 seat after her husband Lynn Slaby was appointed to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio

During her tenure, Slaby served on the committees of Economic and Small Business Development; Health and Aging; and Insurance. She was appointed as Vice Chair of the Education Committee. Prior to her House service, Slaby worked as an educator and owned several small businesses. She has also served on the Summit County Board of Elections and the Republican State Central Committee.
