Biography
Marilyn John is a Republican representing Ohio House District 76, which encompasses all of Richland County. A lifelong resident of Richland County born in Shelby, Ohio, she has served as State Representative since 2021, currently in her third term as Majority Floor Leader for the 136th General Assembly. Notable achievements include her prior roles as Mayor of Shelby and Richland County Commissioner , where she focused on job protection, workforce development, economic growth, parental choice in education, and local infrastructure like the Plymouth bridge. She previously represented District 2 and holds leadership positions such as Chair of the State and Local Government Committee, with memberships on Economic and Workforce Development, Infrastructure, Insurance, Transportation, Finance, General Government, Workforce and Higher Education, and Rules and Reference committees.
