Biography
Marie A. Hopkins is a Republican member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 21 since 2025. A lifelong Warwick resident born in September 1972, she is a nurse, teacher, mother, and wife whose values are shaped by her community roles. She serves on the House committees for Health and Human Services, Judiciary, Labor, and Veterans' Affairs, and is a board member for Mission Boots to Briefcases, supporting veterans and families. Notable positions include her work as an acute and criminal psychiatric nurse at facilities like the Rhode Island Psychiatric Hospital, Veterans Administration Hospital, and Roger Williams Hospital; substitute school nurse in Warwick; and CNA instructor at the Community College of Rhode Island, where she currently teaches.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Brown University ; Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island ; currently pursuing a Master's in Nursing at URI. Attended East Greenwich High School.
