Marianne Buttenschon is running as a Democratic candidate for District 3 of the South Dakota House of Representatives. Buttenschon was born and raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Buttenschon attended Northern State University, where she earned her bachelor’s and master's degrees. She taught high school social studies and coached debate in Aberdeen for over 30 years before retiring. Buttenschon serves on several local boards and committees. She believes her experience as an educator and community member have prepared her well to serve in the state legislature. If elected, Buttenschon says she will focus on funding public education, expanding Medicaid, and investing in infrastructure.read less
