Biography
Margitta Mazzocchi is a Republican delegate representing District 31 in the West Virginia House of Delegates. Born in Stolberg/Rheinland, Germany, she immigrated legally to Logan County, West Virginia, in 1999, where she raised her two children, Marco and Mara, alongside her husband, Eugene Mazzocchi. She became a U.S. citizen on January 9, 2017. A small business owner and office manager of a counseling service, she is Christian and actively involved in community service, including leadership in Celebrate Recovery , past presidency of the Kiwanis Club of Logan, and memberships in Gun Owners of America, National Rifle Association, and West Virginia Citizens Defense League. Notable achievements include serving as Vice Chair of the Human Services Committee and memberships on Finance, Health and Human Resources, and Revenue committees, plus interim roles in Children and Families, Finance, and Health; she was the lead sponsor of 4 bills in 2026, such as HB 4878 and HB 5496 .
Education and Political Experience
Education: Diploma from Trifels Gymnasium .
Political Experience: Elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates for the 86th Legislature, serving District 31 as a conservative advocate for individual and parental rights. Previously served on the State Executive Committee for the 7th Senate District and the Logan County Republican Executive Committee. Current committee roles include Chair of Senior, Children, and Family Issues, plus Finance, Education, Jails and Prisons, Political Subdivisions, and Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security.
