Biography

Margie Donlon is a Democratic Assemblywoman representing New Jersey's 11th Legislative District. Elected in 2023, she made history as the first female physician in the New Jersey State Assembly. A board-certified specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, she serves on the Assembly Health Committee and the Tourism, Gaming & Arts Committee. Notable achievements include sponsoring legislation for the Stay NJ property tax relief program, promoting film production and economic development in Monmouth County, improving medication costs, and protecting women's reproductive health. She previously served as Deputy Mayor of Ocean Township , where she liaised with environmental commissions, and contributed to Governor Murphy’s Healthcare Transition Advisory Committee and the LD 11 Economic Recovery Advisory Council . An avid surfer and volunteer with the Surfers Environmental Alliance and Best Day Foundation, she resides in Ocean Township with her husband and two daughters.
