Representative Marcus E. Richmond

Marcus E. Richmond was born on May 4, 1956, and is a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives representing District 52, which includes portions of Scott, Yell, and Sebastian counties.

Richmond served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978 to 1998, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. Following his military career, he worked as a football coach at Hargrave Military Academy from 1998 to 2000. He is currently the President and CEO of America's Pet Registry Inc. and operates a cattle farm. Richmond resides in Harvey with his wife, Susan, and is a father of two.

Education

Richmond earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Arkansas Tech University.

Political Experience

Richmond was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in November 2014 and assumed office on January 12, 2015. He is currently serving his 6th term in the House.

Throughout his tenure, Richmond has held several leadership positions:
- Assistant Speaker Pro Tem
- House Majority Leader
- House Majority Leader or designee

For the 95th General Assembly, Richmond serves as the House Chair for the Joint Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs. He also serves on the House Public Transportation Committee, the House Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development Committee, and the Joint Budget Committee.

Richmond's personal interests include hunting, fishing, and beekeeping. His religious affiliation is the Church of Christ.
