Biography

Marcus Riccelli is a Democratic politician representing Washington's 3rd Legislative District in the State Senate. Born on June 7, 1978, and raised in Spokane, he lives there with his wife, Amanda, and their two children. A lifelong Spokane resident, he currently serves as Majority Floor Leader, managing Senate proceedings, bill assignments, and debate agendas. He also sits on the Ways & Means, Health & Long-Term Care, State Government, Tribal Affairs & Elections, and Rules Committees. Currently, he works as Community Relations Manager for the Community Health Association of Spokane .

Notable achievements include prime sponsoring legislation to create the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine for rural and underserved communities; advancing a bipartisan transportation package funding the North Spokane Corridor, Central City Line, and U-District Bridge; expanding oral health access to 60,000 more people ; and passing bills for free school meals benefiting 670,000 students. He is involved in community service as an advisory board member for the Northside YMCA and coaches youth sports.
