Biography
Marco Rubio is an American Republican politician born on May 28, 1971, in Miami, Florida, to Cuban immigrants who fled Fidel Castro's regime. He briefly lived in Las Vegas as a child before returning to Florida and rose to become the 72nd U.S. Secretary of State starting in 2025, previously representing Florida in the U.S. Senate from 2011 to 2025. Notable achievements include serving as Speaker of the Florida House , authoring "100 Innovative Ideas for Florida’s Future" that influenced legislation like school choice expansions, leading bipartisan immigration reform efforts in the "Gang of Eight," and shaping foreign policy on China, Latin America, and human rights through sanctions and commissions.
