Biography
Representative Mano DeAyala
Mano DeAyala is a Republican politician serving in the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 133 in West Houston. He is currently in his second term, having been first elected in 2023. At age 58, he resides in Houston and is recognized for his extensive involvement in his community.
DeAyala's district encompasses Houston's "Energy Corridor," which serves as the global headquarters for several prominent energy sector companies and represents a critical economic hub for Texas. The district includes parts of Harris County, specifically Bunker Hill Village, Hedwig Village, Houston, Hunters Creek Village, and Piney Point Village.
Before his election to the House, DeAyala was appointed to significant state and federal positions. In April 2017, Governor Greg Abbott appointed him to a six-year term on the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, where he served as Chair of the Business & Finance Committee and as a Trustee of the Windham School District. In July 2020, the United States Trade Representative appointed him as an arbitrator to adjudicate trade disputes under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement .
Education
DeAyala earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a *Juris Doctor * from Southern Methodist University, establishing his foundation as an attorney.

- Longtime youth football coach with the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association and board member from 2012 through 2022
- Served on Spring Branch Independent School District's Finance and Long-Range Planning committees
- Past member of the "C" Club of Houston executive committee and served as President in 2017
- Trustee of the Houston Region Business Coalition
- Board member of the Hispanic Leadership Alliance since 2012 and Chairman from 2017 through 2022
