Biography
Senator Maggie Nurrenbern ** represents **Missouri Senate District 17, which covers parts of Clay County including Kansas City, North Kansas City, Gladstone, Claycomo, and Pleasant Valley. Elected to the Senate in 2024, she is a lifelong Clay County resident, former teacher, and advocate for public education, economic opportunities, healthcare access, and community safety. Notable achievements include her Peace Corps service in Ecuador focusing on public health and education, expertise in education policy from her teaching and legislative roles, and community involvement as a board member for Feed Northland Kids, PTA member, and active in local chambers of commerce and her church. She serves on the Competency-based Education Task Force and previously worked with law enforcement on community protection issues.
