Biography

Lynn Fitch is the Republican Attorney General of Mississippi, serving statewide since 2020 as the 40th Attorney General, the first woman and first Republican in the role since 1878. She was re-elected in 2023 and previously served as State Treasurer from 2012 to 2020.

Born October 5, 1961, and raised in Holly Springs, Mississippi, Lynn Fitch is a lawyer with over 35 years of experience in public service and private practice as a bond lawyer. She began her career at age 23 as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office. Notable achievements include leading the Dobbs v. Jackson case that contributed to overturning Roe v. Wade, prioritizing efforts against child exploitation and domestic violence, and initiatives like partnerships for victims' support and programs such as Mississippi Access to Maternal Assistance .
