Biography

Lyn Bennett is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. She identifies as a conservative Republican. Prior to entering the legislature, Bennett worked as a nurse for 20 years. She serves as the director of the Glacier County Pachyderm, an organization that supports Republican candidates. Her stated political positions include opposition to property taxation and support for the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Bennett earned a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Political Experience

Bennett is a member of the Montana House of Representatives representing District 4. She assumed office on January 6, 2025, and her current term is scheduled to end on January 4, 2027. During the 2025-2026 legislative session, she was assigned to the House State Administration Committee and the Human Services Committee.

In the 2024 election cycle, Bennett advanced from the Republican primary without opposition. In the general election, she defeated Democrat Lindsey Jordan, receiving 52 percent of the vote. Prior to her election to District 4, she sought membership in the Montana House of Representatives for the 6th district in 2022 but was defeated by incumbent Democrat Dave Fern. She is running for re-election to District 4 in 2026.
