Luther Henry Cifers III is a Republican Virginia State Senator representing District 10, which includes all of Amelia, Appomattox, Buckingham, Cumberland, Fluvanna, Goochland, and Powhatan Counties, and parts of Hanover, Louisa, and Prince Edward Counties. A self-made entrepreneur and fifth-generation Virginian raised in rural Amelia County, he began working in tobacco fields and farms at age 10, later entering construction and manufacturing. He is married to Anastasia Cifers, father of five, grandfather of one, and a Christian conservative committed to fiscal responsibility, reducing government intrusion, home affordability, and individual liberties. Notable achievements include founding YakAttack , Bonafide Kayaks, and MagPump , creating jobs and innovating in manufacturing. Elected in a 2025 special election with 58% of the vote to replace John McGuire , defeating Democrat Jack Trammell after winning a competitive Republican nomination upset.
