Lulu Flores represents Texas House District 51, covering part of Travis County in Austin.

Maria Luisa “Lulu” Flores, born September 27, 1955, is a longtime champion of equality, social justice, women’s issues, and civil rights. The youngest of nine children raised along the Texas border, she was influenced by her father, a LULAC founding member and attorney, and her mother’s community work. She is married to Scott Hendler, with whom she co-founded Hendler Flores Law, PLLC.

Flores has a distinguished career in law, public service, and advocacy. She worked as a legislative aide to Rep. Irma Rangel, helping draft Texas's first domestic violence legislation, including temporary protective orders and state funding for shelters. Her roles included Director of Legislative Programs for the State Bar of Texas and Assistant Director for Alternative Fuels Policy at the Texas Railroad Commission.

Elected to the Texas House in 2022, she is now in her second term , serving on the Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee and as vice-chair of the Culture, Recreation & Tourism Committee. A Democrat, she advocates for reproductive rights, healthcare, education, and dignity for all Texans.
